Fitness: Got it? Don't lose it!
The season is over and many of us have put away our gear until early spring.  But don't kick your feet up just yet!  Putting in a little bit of work in the off-season will net big rewards.  Upgrading? You want to be your best from the first whistle of next year.

New website for NMYSA
The new website for NM Youth Soccer is up and running.  Go take a look at it sometime.  Referees even have their own section where we can post items.  If you have suggestions on what should be up there let us know.

2009 Recertification Ongoing
If you still haven't recertified for 2009 make sure you keep an eye on the website.  Remember: you must certify each year or you won't be able to do games.

Send us your pictures!
Have you traveled to an out of state tournament lately?  We are trying to geotag photos of NM Referees in various locations to map where our referees have been.  Send the pictures my way and let me know where they were taken.

Training Session a Success
Thank you for all those who participated!

During the last weekend of the Gaylord Sheppard Tournament several referees and assessors gathered together for the training session.  It was great to see the assessors come out and help the youth referees learn some new tips and tricks. Everyone who participated got a t-shirt with our new logo on it.

There were some lessons learned by the event planner (that's me) so hopefully next time around it will be even more successful.  Thank you again for everyone who participated and helped it succeed.  Keep you eyes open for the next training session early 2009.

Winter Showcase Academy
Orion Stradford and Kris Grano travel to Lancaster, CA to participate in this great event.
Orion and Kris made their way to California December 5-8 for the Winter Showcase Academy, which is an event designed to showcase youth players and referees alike.  It was an exciting trip and both of them learned a lot from the many experienced referees in attendance.

Orion was even selected to AR one of the Nike International Friendlies!  This was quite an honor for him and we should all be proud.  Click here to read more, see pictures and watch the video from Orion's match.

If you have recently traveled out of the state to a tournament please email me! We want to know what our referees are up to.
